Juvederm is one of the most popular fillers for lips because it is hydrophilic, meaning it absorbs and holds on to water easily. This creates a very natural-looking plump lip.
Most patients will only need 1 syringe, or 1cc (also 1ml), of Juvederm in order to get the lip plumping effect they want, as was the case for this patient.
This is a quick procedure with little to no downtime.
Juvederm typically lasts about 6-9 months in the lips. There are other filler options available for lips, the newest being Restylane’s Refyne and Juvederm’s Vollure. While these fillers do last longer than Juvederm in the lips, they don’t offer quite the same plumping effect. They’re a bit of a softer, less structured look, and they do come at a higher price point, so many patients are happy to continue to use Juvederm for this area.
